I’m Worthy was created to instill change within the community to promote unity and dismantle the stigmas that has been prevalent for generations regarding mental health. Enhancing the quality of life by properly educating individuals of the various forms of mental health disorders and providing a safe space for those that battle with mental issues while also offering resources that are vital to life: effective communication skills, positive coping mechanisms and survival skills.

Today’s youth are labeled as being the most depressed children and their suicide rates are continuing to increase. According to CDC, “children between the ages 6 to 17 that were diagnosed with having anxiety or depression increased from 5.4 in 2003 to 8.4 in 2012. Children living below what’s classified as the federal poverty level was 22% were diagnosed with having behavioral, mental, or developmental disorder as well”. Since most children are unaware of the various types of mental health disorders, early signs won’t be detected and may go untreated depending on their environment.

By bringing awareness to the importance of mental health by properly educating individuals we can encourage unity within the community. We hope to assist people with navigating the world by embracing their diagnosis while informing their support system with techniques on how to provide aid when necessary. As well as prevent more people from suffering from mental health disorders in silence. Overall, we strive to empower individuals while they’re learning how to understand, control, and express their emotions in a healthy way, so it’s not misconstrued.
